Dallas just called me from McGrath, which is at mile marker 401.

Dallas said, "The trail was brutal. We are happy to make it this far already. I would have been better off with my sled dog team."

He was traveling with his friend Jake. They went through the mountains, the steps, and the infamous Delzel Gorge. I was told this trip was impossible on snowmachine. Dallas is also second-guessing his decision.

Both snowmachines are in major need of repair, and he said, "My machine literally sank when parts broke as we limped in, and you could not tow my machine now."

Parts are being flown in ASAP. He guaranteed he would be in Nome before I get there.

Dallas said the temperature just dropped from 30 to 10 degrees.

He had to go and said, "I will call again from Ruby at mile marker 615."

Please keep Dallas in your thoughts and prayers as he tries to catch up to Mitch.
