J. J. Keller and Dallas Seavey Looking to Repeat in 2015
The 2015 Iditarod is less than two months away, and Dallas Seavey is ready to write another chapter of sled dog racing history. The 27-year-old musher will defend his 2012 and 2014 championships in this year’s Iditarod race, and acknowledges that the stakes will be high.
“This year’s race will look very different from last year’s, no doubt,” Seavey said. “Every year you have to grow and mature in this sport. If I come back this year only as good as I was last year, I won’t win. You have to keep pushing the limits, be flexible, and correctly read the situation.”
James and Rosanne Keller, representing J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc.® will continue their support of Seavey as his title sponsor.
“We are very pleased to be the 2015 Title Sponsor for 2012 and 2014 Iditarod Champion, Dallas Seavey,” said James Keller. “Our Partnership started in 2007, and this year will be very exciting!"
The 2015 race will be Dallas’ ninth run to the famed Burled Arch. In that time, he has racked up seven Iditarod records, including:
- 2014 - Fastest Iditarod finish — 8 days, 13 hours, 4 minutes and 19 seconds
- 2014 - Youngest musher to win two Iditarod races — age 27
- 2012 - Youngest musher to win the Iditarod — age 25
- 2011 - Youngest musher to finish the race in a top five position — 4th place, age 24
- 2010 - Youngest musher to win the GCI Dorothy Page Halfway Award — age 23
- 2009 - Youngest musher to finish the race in a top ten position — 6th place, age 22
- 2005 - Youngest musher to compete in the race — age 18
To date, 80 mushers have signed up for the 2015 Iditarod, which will begin in Anchorage, Alaska on March 7, and end nine to 13 days later in Nome. James and Rosanne Keller will be in attendance to welcome the mushers across the finish line.
