DAY 9 – 2016 IDITAROD – 44th ANNUAL RUNNING
J. J. Keller Musher Dallas Seavey has a five mile lead on his father, Mitch Seavey. Brent Sass is five miles behind Mitch.
Dallas is the only musher at White Mountain, where each Musher takes a mandatory 8-hour rest.
Then comes the 77 mile sprint through the hills and cold/windy Bering Sea Coast to the finish in Nome.
Dallas runs up hills next to his team, so this is an advantage. In prior races, he ran up to 50 miles to help his team out.
Rosanne and I are boarding now for Nome and will be under the Burled Arch to greet Dallas!
Should be an AWESOME finish!
